Mike Jacobs - David Leatherwood
Meet the Band
Evil Jake is what happens when rock and roll remembers how to move people again. Born in New York City and raised on overdriven tubes and underdog grit, the band blends big hooks, finger-picked fire, and stories that hit as hard as the amps.
Fronted by guitarist and songwriter Mike Jacobs, Evil Jake bridges classic and modern — think the attitude of early Foo Fighters with the musicianship of The Police and the melodic punch of Costello or Cheap Trick. It’s raw, tuneful, and unapologetically alive.
Their debut record Be My Ex-Girlfriend (produced by Adam Lasus and featuring vocals of Sam Endicott of The Bravery and Patti Rothberg) put them on the map with national airplay, and landing them everywhere from MTV to Sports Illustrated. The band’s shared stages include The Strokes, The Bravery, and The Charlie Daniels Band — and that's just the bands starting with “The”.
Evil Jake’s live show remains their calling card: no backing tracks, no autopilot, just sweat, precision, and the kind of guitar tone you can feel in your chest.
Still loud, still dangerous, still fun — Evil Jake is proof that rock isn’t dead, it just needed a better solo.
